Fighting a personal tendency toward long-windedness, over-complexity, and pessimism, one blog post at a time.

I used to have a big, boring thing here that I’ve deleted now. In its place, I’m putting up a collection of my favorite quotes by me. If you’re interested in a biography of sorts, see my Amazon author page.

I love quotes, and someday I wouldn’t mind if I were remembered by a few of my own quotes. So, here are my own quotes. Keep in mind that I may come back and edit or improve these, and I will probably add to them when I think of something new.

No change outside of your own thoughts and actions can bring you true happiness.

If you wish to persuade me, make no mention of the idea of fairness. I will never be swayed by an idea that is both impractical and nonexistent.

Chewing gum should never have been invented. Humanity would be better off without it.

Musicians today surely paint a beautiful picture of delirium. I pity those who accept their lyrics as reality.

Though not a single soul hears what I say, I feel better saying it knowing that, should any imaginary people hear me, the quality of their imaginary lives will be better for listening to me than that of the real people’s lives who ignore me.

Do everything you can to show that being kind and good is more important to you than getting what you want. This is the key to getting what you want.

It is a good practice to regularly select one non life sustaining belief, routine or item in your life and challenge yourself to live without it indefinitely and unconditionally.

Never do I regret having a head more than when I have a head cold.

I don’t know anyone stealthier than my shadow.

I know there’s something wrong with me. I’ve seen many a doctor and psychologist, and after all of their assessments and diagnoses, I have come up with my own diagnosis: my problem is that I’m human.

I’ve noticed a terrifying trend in the world in which a growing number of individuals are letting social media do all of their thinking and form all of their opinions for them. I’d tell you what I think about the problem, but I’m still looking for a blog entry in which I can read what my opinion should be.

Thou shalt not excuse thyself in a voice louder than the sound your body hath made.

I enjoy meeting new people and learning about them.  Everyone’s got a story and I love hearing those stories.  Feel free to contact me however you see fit. Also, if you have any quotes you’ve come up with that you’re especially proud of, please leave it as a comment below!

Here are a few posts I have written about myself.  Of course, I may not keep this list entirely up to date, or clicking through to all of these links may bore you.  To view only the things I’ve written about myself, look at my “Me” tag (remember that tag views, like all views other than individual article views are ten items per page).

Oh, I meant to mention, that I have been blogging now for several years, and have found that the best way to get readers (aside from family and friends) is to comment on other blogs. Happy blogging!

Hello Brian. I just want to tell you that you are a good writer. The problem in book publishing is distribution ; even an electronic book needs to be advertised and put out to the public. Just keep writing. So happy to read about Sophie. Sorry I am late with this. We have been playing a lot. Cheers, grandma
